3 Reasons to Visit Your Local Day Spa

Spa Health is becoming the buzz word for today’s baby boomers as they get older.  Our generation has grown up with so many new inventions and a faster life style that it could  eventually take its toll, if we don’t take care of our selves.

But, there is hope and that is where Spa Health comes in.  There are many ways to achieve that glowing feeling like you receive after a rigorous workout.  Today, I’d like you to consider incorporating spa health into your normal routine and possibly creating some pampering time for yourself.

Day spas are popping up all over and are offering inexpensive spa packages for health preventative measures.  “Healthcare of the future has to be based on wellness and health promotion-  the spa industry can be very central in this new kind of healthcare.”  according to Andrew Weil who recently spoke at the Global Spa and Wellness Summit in Aspen, Colorado.

Therefore, if you are ready to take charge of your health, so that you feel better physically and emotionally,  plus learn non-invasive methods of healing to create more energy and clarity in your life, then please read on.

(1) Most day spas offer several different kinds of deep tissue massage such as Hot Stone or Swedish as well as Foot Treatments, Aromatherapy, Mud Body Wraps, Reflexology, Facials, Bodywork, Skin Care, Detox Treatments, Salt Scrubs, Acupressure, and so much more.  Each day spa offers a different variety of treatments.  This is part of the fun, you decide what treatments to experience or what your body needs.

(2) Hands-on sessions of any kind relax and loosens your grip on reality. Relaxation is the key to real healing that takes place within your body. These treatments take away every day aches and pains, which in the long run makes you feel younger.  And who doesn’t want that!  Furthermore, with regular treatments, life in the fast lane slows down and you’ll be thinking clearer and making better decisions.

(3) You will go home with a better attitude than when you came in.  I am not saying visiting day spas are a cure-all because there is some work required on your part.  You will need to look at your diet and exercise routines.  However, if you find time to set up an appointment even once a month at your local day spa for some pampering or just “me time”, your mental state and body will thank you!

I live in southern Colorado and there are many hot springs facilities available that also offer massage and other treatments.  Therefore, a day spa could also be your local hot springs center.  Your local Chamber of Commerce will gladly share with you a list of day spas in your town or city.

And this is only the beginning. There are of course, several other types of spas. Resort spas, Medical Spas, and Boutique spas.  But these will be a topic of another discussion in a future post.  Have fun and get ready to feel great!
