You Don't Choose a Life, You Live One

Just watched an inspirational and  thought provoking movie titled THE WAY. Written and directed by Emilio Estevez, starring his father Martin Sheen (his original name was Ramon Estevez).

THE WAY is a powerful and heartfelt story about family, friends, and the challenges we face while navigating this ever-changing and complicated world.  Martin Sheen plays Tom, an irascible American doctor who comes to France to deal with the tragic loss of his son (played by Emilio Estevez). Rather than return home, Tom decides to embark on the historical pilgrimage "The Way to St. James" to honor his son's desire to finish the journey.  What Tom doesn't plan on is the profound impact this trip will have on him.  Though unexpected and oftentimes amusing experiences along "they Way," Tom discovers the difference between "the life we live and the life we choose."

The Way was filmed entirely in France and Spain along the The Way of St. James, also known as "El Camino de Santiago."

I give this movie a thumbs up.  Not sure if it has already come and gone through the movie theaters but it is now available in stores and worth the price of admission.

  1. Turns out my library has it, so I just added myself to their request list (only 126 other folks ahead of me!). Sounds well worth checking out. Thanks for the recommendation.
